Here’s a challenge to test your luxury travel savvy. Do you know this hotel? Take a guess, leave us a comment letting us know which hotel you think this photo belongs to, and check back next week for the answer and new image.
Helpful Hints: This luxury resort was creatively designed with a village concept as all guestroom villas are constructed of stone, wood and thatch…

Word on the street is that Beijing is introducing a new tourism initiative to entice visitors, including free five-star hotel accommodation for newlyweds on their honeymoon. Also in the works: the payment of 1 million yuan of highway toll fees for tourist buses for half a year.

We can hardly wait for two new hotel openings from the Dorchester Collection in England next year. Slated for the summer, Coworth Park will be a country house hotel and equestrian center on 200 acres of Surrey parkland near Ascot– just 40 minutes from central London. Polo fields, archery, pitch-and-put golf, an eco-luxury spa… But most exciting of all: Coworth Park will be one of the most environmentally-friendly properties in the UK, utilizing zero-carbon technologies. Rainwater and surface water will be recycled, and a kitchen garden will provide organic veggies for the table. The goal is to embrace all the latest, cutting-edge technology to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by at least 50 percent. The other addition to the Dorchester portfolio will be in London. Long vacant, 45 Park Lane will be getting a makeover from its er- unseemly former life as the London Playboy Club. The construction project requires major modifications incorporating eco-friendly technology.

Head to Rome this summer and you’ll be treated to some special tourist offerings that don’t happen that often. As reported by the AP, the city has launched a nighttime tour to the Colosseum and opened a slew of ancient monuments usually closed to the public– including the House of Livia (associated with the wife of Rome’s first emperor, Augustus), the House of Griffins (the oldest house discovered on Palatine Hill), and the recently-restored Temple of Romulus (never before open to visitors). These new initiatives will run through September 30, 2009. Check into the St. George Roma and you’ll enjoy an enviable location near the city’s most important monuments on historic Via Giulia, dating from the 15th century. Opened in 2007, the boutique design hotel sports chic rooms with a minimalist aesthetic. From the rooftop terrace, you can sip a cocktail and admire the view over the rooftops and domes of the Eternal City. The spa has a sauna and Turkish bath. Tip: When you book four nights this summer, you’ll save 15 percent off the best available daily rate.
