Trump at Cap Cana: Golf in the Dominican Republic
The latest high-profile development in the Dominican Republic is Cap Cana, with an apparent long-term investment of $1,500 million. A gargantuan project, Cap Cana covers 46 square miles of pristine beaches and stunning Caribbean coastline. In its initial phase, the project will have three 5-star hotels, three Jack Nicklaus-designed golf courses, and an enormous, state-of-the-art marina. Billed as “The World’s Next Great Destination” and “the most important tourism and real estate project in the Caribbean,” Cap Cana will span more than 30,000 acres on the Dominican Republic’s eastern tip. Trump is the latest real-estate tycoon to jump on the DR bandwagon. He recently announced a partnership agreement with Cap Cana to build a luxury resort which will include a golf course, golf villas and golf lots, estate lots, a beach club, a condo hotel, and residences with ocean views to be called Trump at Cap Cana.
