Wag Hotel, San Francisco: Luxury Pet Hotels
Announcing luxury doggie digs that are truly tail-wag worthy. On May 12, 2007, the Wag Hotel opens in San Francisco. (In fact, you and Fido are cordially invited to attend the grand opening celebration over the weekend, starting 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 12.) Room and board aren’t your standard kennel service; luxury suites feature plasma TVs, premium beds, sofas, rugs, and paintings, while meals are delivered to guests twice daily, tailored to fit their diet. (Of course organic food is available.) Rooms are cleaned daily, and staff members are available 24/7 to mind your precious pooch. Other perks include supervised play groups twice daily, classical music listening sessions, swims in the pool, massages… From check-in to check-out, Wag Hotel is “more fun than a day at the park.”

what the h….l !! this is madness. why not give ALL that money spent to those who actually need it. HUNGRY PEOPLE, HOMELESS PEOPLE!! I do love animals, but they are put on earth as pets, what dog watches tv?? homeless people do, give it to them. meals twice a day, give money to the poor to ensure they can afford ONE meal a day.
madness, im telling you. just pure madness
I don’t think it’s madness at all! Is it any more “mad” than paying a fresh-out-of-college kid tens of millions of dollars to play a professional sport? Or what we now have to pay to attend the game? There are many, many ways that people in this country spend money for other than the essentials. This is just one of them. We all have different priorities and we have choices. I’m afraid a few high-priced hotel rooms to accomodate some pets is not going to make the difference for people starving in third world countries. Wish it would!
It’s not madness at all. “Put on this earth as pets.” By whom? Humans think we’re so entitled at the expense of every other living creature in this world. Too bad for the 50% of the world’s species that will be gone in a few decades. Were they put on this planet just so we could force them into extinction?
Yes. We need to do a better job of taking care of the homeless, the poor, the hungry, the defenseless, … of all species.
I hope WAG is incredibly successful!
