Rome Cavalieri: The First Hotel in Europe to Join the Exclusive Waldorf=Astoria Collection
The newest hotel to join the prestigious Waldorf=Astoria Collection is the sumptuous Rome Cavalieri, a Hilton Hotel in a former life. After a long renovation, the New York Times hailed it “one of the city’s most decadent and most expensive hotels” and “a hotel of superlatives” as “its dining room, La Pergola, is Rome’s only Michelin three-star restaurant, and the gilded lobby is filled with stunning art, including a Tiepolo triptych valued at $8 million.” Perched on a hilltop in a lush 15-acre private park overlooking the Eternal City, the Rome Cavalieri has a grand spa, clay tennis courts, and even a Roman gladiator school. But we’ve heard conflicting reports on the service: frosty or flawless?
