Venice Delight: Hotel Danieli Wraps up First Phase of Restoration

We can’t wait to see the $66 million revamp of Venice’s Hotel Danieli, which will revive the rich art and architecture of its three palaces. Why, you ask? The designer of the three-phase project is none other than Jacques Garcia, whose work is behind such hotels as Le Majéstic in Cannes, Le Métropole in Monte-Carlo and Hotel Costes in Paris.
Phase One has just been completed; it involved restoring the Danielino Palace, whose original 81 rooms have now been paired down to a more spacious 73 (Junior Suite is shown here). Expect stylish coloring and décor that blends Venetian ambiance with universal elegance. The Danielino Palace’s Terrazza restaurant, which is perched high above the city, has also been newly refurbished and redesigned. The result: Smaller sections, which heighten its intimacy. Dark red seats and richly colored carpeting now enrich the restaurant and offer great contrast to the stunning sunset views that come through the space’s wide windows.
Stay Tuned: The hotel is hush-hush, but we hear a fabulous new boutique spa will soon be crafted on the ground floor, which will include treatment rooms and a covered swimming pool.
