Be Beckham’s Neighbor on Lake Como at Villa d’Este

Villa d'EsteWith a mild, Mediterranean-like climate and fragrant gardens overlooking the deep blue waters, Lake Como is an earthly paradise. This star-studded resort destination is favored by the likes of George Clooney, who has just leased his villa to a certain footballer (who’s abandoned LaLa-land for Milan). In fact, majestic villas have been built here since the time of Ancient Rome. One such princely estate is the Villa d’Este– so famous, and adored by an A-list clientele, that its photo is showcased on Wikipedia:

The Villa d’Este, at Cernobbio, was built in 1568 by Cardinal Tolomeo Gallio, a native of the town. In 1816–17 the villa was home to Caroline of Brunswick, estranged wife of the Prince of Wales and shortly to become Queen Consort of King George IV of the United Kingdom. The landscaped gardens in the English style are a product of this period. Later in the century it was turned into a luxury hotel.

From the luxurious bedrooms to the floating swimming pool, a stay at Villa d’Este is not easily forgotten. It can be yours for just EUR 395 per night (buffet breakfast included) with the Spring Special.
