Buzz in the Caribbean: Scrub Island Resort, The New Private Island Paradise
Winter 2010 will see the opening of the much-anticipated Scrub Island Resort, the first private resort built in the British Virgin Islands in over 15 years. This 230-acre island was first discovered by Christopher Columbus and, as the property’s website explains, “the name of the resort is the only name this island has ever had.” The resort’s lagoon-style, multi-level pool sounds grand (waterfall and swim-up bar? bring it on!), while amenities run the gamut from boat rentals to spa services. The full-service marina will have 60 deep-water slips, and guests can frolic on three pristine white sand beaches. Rates starting from $450.
